NEST Becomes an Infrastructural Research Centre of SNS
Starting from August 1st 2026, the NEST Laboratory officially becomes an Infrastructural Research Centre of the Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS).
This transformation acknowledges NEST’s strategic role in nanoscience and nanotechnology research, and the Centre retains the name NEST – National Enterprise for nanoScience and nanoTechnology. Professor Fabio Beltram is confirmed as Director, ensuring scientific and strategic continuity.
NEST will have its own Scientific Committee, appointed in accordance with the new Regulations governing Research Centres at SNS.
The new organisational framework strengthens the shared management of research infrastructures, expertise and advanced services, while promoting collaboration among researchers, students and scientific partners of the SNS.
For the SNS’s community, this transition marks a new phase of growth, innovation and recognition for NEST’s activities.
